June 16: RX 9070 XT Leaps to $719.99 and the RTX 5070 Steals Its Spot
The RX 9070 XT just got harder to love at the top of the midrange.
Our tracked RX 9070 XT listing jumped from $649.99 to $719.99 on June 16. That is a $70 move, almost 11% in a single day. For weeks this card ran neck and neck with the RTX 5070 at $649.99 each. That tie is finished. The 5070 held at $635.99, so it now undercuts the 9070 XT by a full $84 on new checkout price.
If you were cross shopping these two, the picture flipped overnight. The 9070 XT still brings 16GB of memory and strong raster performance, but you are now paying a premium for it instead of getting it at price parity. Put them side by side before you decide whether the Radeon’s extra VRAM is worth the new spread.
The used market makes the fresh price look even shakier. The used 9070 XT listing we tracked sat at $630, roughly $90 below the new card’s $719.99 ask. The used 5070 was lower still at $549.99. If warranty confidence matters less to you than dollars out of pocket, both the Radeon and the GeForce have cheaper doors in.
One tier up, the RX 7900 XTX nudged to $1,069.99 new. That is a smaller $20 bump, but another sign AMD board prices drifted upward this week. Its 24GB still anchors the value case for high VRAM workloads, just at a slightly higher entry than yesterday.
