The RTX 5070 just jumped above the RTX 4070 Super

Today is an ad hoc digest day because the tracked RTX 5070 moved hard enough to change the conversation. Amazon pushed it from $872.00 on September 2 to $970.32 today, an 11.3% jump in one refresh cycle. That is especially painful because the tracked RTX 4070 Super is sitting at $949.00, so the newer card is no longer the obvious Amazon buy in that matchup. If you want the direct side by side, start with RTX 5070 vs. RTX 4070 Super.

The ugly part is that the rest of the lane did not move up with it. The tracked RX 9070 held at $689.99, and the tracked RTX 5080 stayed pinned at $1,582.40. That leaves the 5070 in a weird middle ground where it costs far more than AMD’s cleaner upper-midrange option, while still sitting nowhere near the performance class that justifies a 5080 price. The RTX 5070 vs. RX 9070 comparison is the one I would open first if you are shopping this band.

Cross-store pricing makes Amazon look even shakier today. Newegg has an exact RTX 5070 listing at $839.99, and the refreshed used eBay listing landed at $674.99. Even the smaller move on the tracked RTX 5060 Ti only nudged Amazon down to $623.58, which is not enough to change the broader picture. If you want a cheaper current-gen sanity check, the RTX 4060 vs. RX 7600 page still looks a lot more grounded.
