Blackwell cooled off fast, and the old value pecking order snapped back
Today clears the ad hoc gate without any stretching. The tracked RTX 5080 fell from $1,619.00 on September 12 to $1,299.00 today, a 19.8% swing on the exact Amazon page we track. The tracked RTX 5090 also backed off, dropping from $7,369.90 to $5,997.00, while the tracked RTX 5070 slipped from $959.56 to $886.53. Even the workstation side got weird in a good way, with the tracked RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell collapsing from $19,999.00 to $7,940.00.
That swing puts the site’s high-end comparison back in motion. The tracked RX 9070 XT held at $799.28, so the RTX 5080 vs. RX 9070 XT comparison is still a clean reminder that NVIDIA’s step down today did not suddenly make the 5080 a value card. It just made yesterday’s spike look even less real. If you want a saner NVIDIA option, the RTX 5070 vs. RTX 5080 comparison looks much healthier again than it did 24 hours ago.
The cards moving the wrong way are just as important. The tracked RX 7900 XTX climbed from $1,499.00 to $1,699.99, and the tracked RTX 4060 jumped from $455.00 to $545.00. That leaves the RTX 4060 vs. Arc B580 comparison looking rough for NVIDIA again when the Arc B580 is still $369.99 on its refreshed Amazon listing.
